Secret Cosplay Project - Day 1

Secret Cosplay Project

So, today (having really only just got back from expo) I decided to start on a project that I have wanted to do for quite some time now.  There are a few people who may know what this project is buuttttttt it's a secret for everyone else *shhhhhh* but you're welcome to try and guess (I will reveal hints along the way XD)
Day 1

Meet Charlie, my 16.2hh, shire x Irish Draught, skewbald horse.  He is going to play a pretty big role in this project so today is the start of work for him!

I've done a fair bit of work with Charlie in the past getting him used to various things so today is a bit of a refresher for my boy with an addition at the end XD

Firstly, I flicked the end of the rope all over his body and then over his head to get him used to it.  It's not like hitting him with it, hell no, it just getting him used to the idea of having something over his head, around his legs, under his belly etc.

Then we followed the same exercise with a stick, just rubbing it over his body, down his legs, across his belly etc, and once again Charlie had no problem with this XD

In fact, Charlie was so relaxed about this, he was happy to have the stick rubbed around his ears and top of his head!

You can see from his body language how relaxed he is!!  His head is lowered and his ears relaxed.

So the next part of the plan is to get him used to flappy things.  Again, we have done this exercise before (very useful to desensitise horses to flappy things in hedges etc) but it's been a while but Charlie was ace once again!  To get something flappy, I just tied a plastic carrier bag to the end of the stick and did as with the last two times.  I also waved it around over his head/around his sides etc since he needs to be prepared for the flappiness once I'm on board!

Along his side

Not at all bothered with the plastic bag on his head!

Pretty chilled with it up in the air!

The Additional Task
The next task was additional as I wasn't sure how well the first three were going to go!  This time we're doing the same thing with an umbrella!

No reaction...

Still no reaction XD

And still no reaction to having it on his head >.< So, since Charlie was fine with the umbrella, we moved onto opening and closing it!

More interested in trying to eat!

Anything to eat?

Happy with is over his back (preparing for ridden next time >.<)

And a final shot because of its awesomeness!

So there you have the first day :D
